Today, we’ve got something a little extra special coming in from our friends North of the Border. Canadian-based label Westwood Recordings is celebrating its 10th year anniversary and beginning a month-long campaign of music to honor the occasion. They’ve enlisted electro-funk heavyweights The Funk Hunters and Defunk for the first release and we’re thrilled to offer you an exclusive first listen.
The track is titled “Freak” and finds both iconic producers in their midtempo bag. Both producers lend their signature funk-filled, bass-heavy sounds to traverse genres as they’ve become so known to do. This time they fuse robotic vocals with metallic synths and bouncy drums for a groovy, hard-hitting affair.
