PREMIERE | Rising British House Phenom Tim Taylor’s “Check It” Shines on New EP

|||,

With the onslaught of recent festival and tour announcements, we are absolutely itching to find the nearest dancefloor. Hot Creations newest addition Tim Taylor definitely knows this. His newest EP Do You Like… succeeds at getting us hyped for the return of live music and DJ sets. “Check “It” is a particularly funky tech track that we’re pumped to premiere for you today.

On “Check It”, Taylor expertly mixes a groovy, bumping bassline with 80s style drums. With elements of acid and an old school vocal cut knitting seamlessly throughout, the result is a perfectly moody, grungy basement style deep tech cut.

Taylor cites Hot Creation’s Jamie Jones as his inspiration for the record.

For the entire EP, I was thinking what would sound cool if it was played live by Jamie. I have always loved the darker, funky music he plays and it inspired me massively for this EP.

Towards the end of the track, the song resets when Taylor cuts the beat entirely. He hits us with heavy distortion, gradually and rhythmically dialing it back up again before the 80s era drum beats kick back in and we plunge into the drop again. It’s giving us the same energy of the epic, legendary intro for Deorro’s “Five Hours”.

If you’re digging this track like we are, you’ll definitely want to check out the rest of his EP. For now, you can stream “Check It” exclusively below. Enjoy!
