PREMIERE | Trevor Hall Officially Releases Cover of Mac Miller’s “2009”

||, |,

Not too long ago we were delighted to discover a rendition of Mac Miller‘s “2009” by Boulder’s own multi-talented musician, Trevor Hall. Shortly after that discovery, we learned that Hall was preparing an official release for the cover. Today, we’re very stoked to give you an exclusive first listen of that official release, right here on TSIS.

Trevor Hall has one of the most unique sounding voices we’ve ever heard. Although the original will always hold a very, very special place in our heart, he does this track justice with his deep raspiness, adding a whole new layer of sonic depth to the track. Some light guitar playing and a precise drum kit support his one-of-a-kind croons, with some electronic blips accenting the vibe in the background.

This is one of the coolest unexpected crossovers we’ve heard in a minute. This cover was something that Hall would exclusively play out during his live shows. Fans loved it so much that he got in the studio and made it official.

Stream Trevor Hall’s beautiful cover of Mac Miller’s “2009” below. It’s out everywhere tomorrow morning. Enjoy!
