PREMIERE | Wolf-e-Wolf Delivers an Icy Freeform Bass Track “Chronos,” with Illanthropy

|||,

Mersiv’s label MorFlo Records is gaining a reputation for pioneering the future of Freeform Bass. Its latest artist, Midwest producer Wolf-e-Wolf, exemplifies this on his newest track “Chronos.”

“Chronos” creatively pushes the boundaries of bass music. Iced out, trippy synth lines run through the dynamic rhythm. Android sound effects add texture and highlight the bassline that slashes through the main verse of the song. And through all of that, there is a beautiful, refreshing melody. This comes as a result of the collaboration between Wolf-e-Wolf and Illanthropy.

Here’s what Wolf-e-Wolf had to say about the collab:

When illanthropy first brought up the idea of collaborating, he sent me a batch of rough sketches he started. I immediately fell in love with the sketch that’s now been transformed into Chronos. He was stoked because collaborators typically would go for the heavier/banger tunes (which I also love!) but I think he’s super talented with making beautiful melodies, so Chronos was the one! We each took turns chipping away at it for what seemed like a year until we were both satisfied with the final result. It fits perfectly alongside the other two tracks on the EP so I couldn’t be happier to include it on Dream System.

“Chronos” is part of a three-track EP Dream System, out everywhere tomorrow. Until then, you can only check out this tune using the link below. Enjoy!
