Earlier this year Ratatat ended their long musical hiatus with the release of their new song “Cream on Crome” in conjunction with their Coachella performance. This new track “Abrasive” is the second release off their forthcoming album Magnifique, which is their first album in five years and will be released on 7/17.
They unleashed this new tune as a music video featuring intriguing animation using over 4,000 black and white drawings by Ratatat’s Evan Mast to create a truly unique visual element to go along with this new track. “Abrasive” brings smooth guitar licks and silky grooves as their signature synthesizer lays beneath to make for a harmonious sound that has us eagerly awaiting the album.
