Live Music Is Happening At Red Rocks Next Week, Colorado Symphony To Perform

||, |,

Most of us have accepted the fate of the 2020 Red Rocks season due to COVID-19. There is however, live music happening at the beloved outdoor venue as soon as next week. Red Rocks Amphitheatre has announced five shows with the Colorado Symphony, who will be performing acoustically on July 29-31, and August 1-2.

In order to ensure safety, Red Rocks will enforcing specific guidelines at the shows that includes: limited capacity, required facial coverings, distancing of at least 6 feet between groups, and contact tracing (via purchased tickets).

Red Rocks is describing this event as a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity:

Conductor Christopher Dragon guides you through an evening featuring breathtaking classical works that showcase the virtuosity of the Colorado Symphony musicians and for the first time in decades, you’ll be able to listen to a purely acoustic concert in the worlds best known natural amphitheatre.

While this may not exactly be the dance party we’re looking for, seeing, hearing, and feeling live music again may just be exactly what we need. This could also serve as a litmus test for how Red Rocks could host other live shows later in the year.
