Rising Irish Producer mild Lets His Instrumental Talent Do The Talking on “dial in”

Today’s fresh find comes at you courtesy of rising Irish producer mild. Although he’s only been producing since 2021, he’s already dropped an album and is now gearing up for more. His newest tune, “dial in,” is the leading single from the upcoming EP tapewinter.

Citing Kaytranada and Sam Gellaitry as his influences, this manifests in “dial in” as its groovy R&B beat and forward synth melodies. mild introduces an analog telephone sample after the first drop, which he uses as both a vocal chop and to add melodic textures. This chilly lofi house tune feels laidback yet upbeat, perfect for chilling with friends or getting work done.

Below mild tells us how the track was created:

The song was created at the tail end of last year after a trip to Edinburgh. I felt a real connection to the city and came home feeling creatively rejuvenated and wanted to make something that reminded me of my time there. After messing about in FL Studio I got the distorted static sound from an old synth patch I’d made ages ago which ended up being the core of the melody. The rest of the song’s telephone-esque aesthetic fell into place from there.
