Watch RL Grime Drop A Gritty New ID At Something Wicked Festival

RL Grime has been building up the anticipation for his forthcoming album, Nova, with a steady stream of releases and performances. So far, we’ve gotten a taste of what to expect from his newest tracks, “Reims,” “Stay For It,” and “Era.” RL Grime laid down some extra heavy sets for Halloween, including his highly anticipated “Halloween VI” mix that's even better than we expected.

He played out a gritty new ID from the album during his sets at New Orleans’ Voodoo Music + Arts Experience and Houston’s Something Wicked Festival. One fan was able to capture a video of the new tune from his performance at Something Wicked and has recently uploaded it for our viewing and listening pleasure.

RL Grime starts off his new ID with an intense buildup containing retro synth bass that hints at the impending drop. The tune culminates with a few notes from this bass before the sub kicks in behind a stereo-shredding, distorted lead synth, catching fans off guard and blasting them with a powerful wall of sound. This ID finds RL Grime emitting a dark, industrial vibe with robotic bass and huge, static synths. We can’t wait to hear this tune in full in anticipation of the album. For now, check out the snippet below, be on the lookout for more from RL Grime, and enjoy!
