Every so often the dance music scene shifts focus and everybody adjusts. One minute Afrohouse has the community in a chokehold and the next it’s melodic techno. One thing is certain though, that sort of indie alternative dance music sound will always have a place in the hearts of edm fans. From RÜFÜS DU SOL to Bob Moses, that sound captures the deepest part of the heart of listeners. Today, Los Angeles-based producer and songwriter Rob Tirea follows that same sound with his latest release, “Give Me Love, Give Me Life.”
It’s refreshing to find something that sounds new, but it’s also refreshing to hear something that sounds familiar in this ever-changing edm environment. “Give Me Love, Give Me Life” is a powerful and emotionally charged track that sees Rob Tirea’s incredible vocals shine. It’s the first single off his upcoming Universal Jest EP, and offers fans a taste of Tirea’s take on that indie alternative dance sound that is beloved.
Speaking further on the EP, he describes it as,
