Robert Glasper Blends Jazz & Hip-hop With Star-Studded Cast On New Mixtape, ‘Fuck Yo Feelings’

|||, ,

Robert Glasper has become an icon in the jazz, hip-hop, and R&B worlds.  The Jazz Pianist has won multiple grammy awards and worked with a healthy list of heavy hitters that includes Kendrick Lamar, Common, Kanye West, Mac Miller, Kaytranada, Jay-Z, and Talib Kweli, just to name a few. In short, the man is a real Don of the industry. Now, in conjunction with the start of his residency at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York, Robert Glasper released his new genre-blending mixtape, Fuck Yo Feelings, and it is truly a masterpiece.

The legendary pianist and composer has always had a talent for blending jazz and hip-hop, but this 19 track project takes the lines between jazz and hip hop and blurs them to non-existence in demonstration of masterful musical artistry.  With the help of a slew of talented featured artists including Denzel Curry, YBN Cordae, Herbie Hancock, Mick Jenkins, Yasiin Bey (previously known as Mos Def), Bilal, and YEBBA, Robert Glasper constructs a mixtape that balances raw, unfiltered, and brutally honest vocal lines over top of mellow yet harmonically complex jazz backdrops. If you’re a fan of masterful musical composition, this is the mixtape for you. Now please excuse me, I’m vibin’ hard to Robert Glasper’s, Fuck Yo Feelings. Enjoy!
