The versatile electronic artist known as Rome in Silver is no stranger to TSIS. We’ve loved his vibrant sound for years now on heavyweight labels like bitbird and deadbeats, but we haven’t had a full length project from him, until now. As of today, his much-anticipated debut album, Dragonfly, has finally landed.
Rome in Silver has been releasing music for the better part of a decade now, and it’s evident by the way this album spans the electronic dance genre. From future bass, to UKG beats, to disco house, there’s something for everyone on this well-balanced album. On “Back 2 Basics” he revisits his roots as a trap artist with heavy glitches and dubby drops, whereas “Think About It” is a melodic tune filled with light chimes and whimsical textures.
Our favorite tracks are “Cicero” and “Return of Love.” The former is a deep house track that features warm currents of synth and a tribal vocal cut that transport you to the heat of a Tulum rave. Meanwhile, “Return of Love” isn’t the first time Rome in Silver and Biicla have collaborated, but it’s definitely their best work together yet. Castanets and a dynamic guitar riff meld to create a dance-forward power anthem.
We definitely recommend giving this album a front-to-back listen. You can check it out below. Enjoy!
