Must Hear Newcomers Sad Night Dynamite Share New Track “Psychedelic Views” with IDK

Today we’re stoked to introduce Sad Night Dynamite to the site, a new electronic duo who’s captivating sound cannot be ignored. The Glastonbury based artists recently dropped their debut mixtape Sad Night Dynamite, which featured a whirlwind of forward-thinking, genre-bending productions. They’re now rolling out their next string of releases, beginning with this haunting new banger, “Psychedelic Views,” which features Maryland rapper IDK.

While Sad Night Dynamite can seemingly dip their toes into any genre (and often multiple at a time), this new one leans towards a spooky, trappy sound that also features folky inspirations. In fact, at one point the track breaks down and lends itself to a 20-year-old country western sample by The Handsome Family (which was used as the True Detective opening theme). The execution here is flawless, however, and has us wondering what these two will do next.

This new track’s origin story is as wild as its sound. Here’s what Sad Night Dynamite wrote about its inception:

During the first lockdown, we fled London and set up camp in a disused pub near the village where we grew up. It’s safe to say we were not liked by the locals – they were one step away from coming for us with pitchforks … Then a rat died under the floorboards and in a weird way it made us delirious. “Psychedelic Views” is the result – we were dreaming of another hotel, far away, somewhere in the sun – which is where the song is set.
