As we approach the 2 year mark from the release of Schoolboy Q’s first major label album Oxymoron, we couldn't be more eager to here what's next from him, and our day has come.
We now get to hear the first new single from Schoolboy since 2014. This new track “Groovy Tony” brings a dark, menacing beat for the production with Q spitting some relentless verses showing his more agressive side. TDE co-president Terrence “Punch” Henderson recently shed light on Q’s forthcoming project saying it’s much more lyrical than his past projects, and this is apparent in the new single as his raps pack detailed imagery. It’s still unclear when Q’s album will be dropping, but last month Top Dawg shared the album was in the sample clearance phase, and with the first single dropping, we can expect the album is soon underway.
He's shared this new track in the form of a music video, and the visuals are as dark & menacing as the song as he's portrayed as the "no faced killer" he raps about on the track. Enjoy!
