Snails has had one wild rise to prominence over the past 6+ years. Having released a debut album, started his own Red Rocks festival, dropped an epic 22-minute tour documentary and even had one of his tracks appear in an M. Night Shyamalan movie all in the past two years alone, it’s quite apparent the Canadian powerhouse has been doing the most. Today, the Vomitstep pioneer has reached yet another milestone in his career with the announcement of his brand new label, Slugz Music.
"I want to put a story with every single release so it connects on a deeper level with listeners and that's the most important thing for me. I want to build with artists and help their music be heard by as many people as possible, there is so much unheard talent out there." – Snails (via Billboard)
Having been a part of the OWSLA, Dim Mak and Monstercat families over the years, it seems that Slugz Music will be a unique familial entity in itself. Snails stated that in an interview with Billboard that having complete control over not only his releases, but “also being able to have a vision attached to my music” is incredibly important. Seeing as the new label will take influence from Snails’ musical upbringing of old school metal, punk and rock, and that he already has merch and a remix album for his debut album, The Shell in the works, we can't wait to see how it’ll all come together. Make sure to keep an eye on Slugz Music here. Enjoy!
