Sam Smith surprised us all at the beginning of the month with the release of his first single since 2015. Once again sharing his soft yet powerful vocals and signature acoustic sound, who could be a better fit to remix Sam Smith’s emotional new ballad than fellow English artists Snakehips. Today, closely following the success of their recent summer collaborations “Right Now” and “Either Way”, Snakehips has shared their take on Sam Smith’s “Too Good At Goodbyes”.
From remixing Tory Lanez to Lana Del Rey, Snakehips seems to continuously switch up their style while always staying consistent in the quality of their production. For this latest offering, the UK-based duo have changed the key and tempo of Sam Smith’s new single. Starting off with a gentle pluck and some distant vocal chops, it doesn’t take long for Sam’s soft, pitched voice to gently float in over a slow-rolling bass pad. Some mellow drums and emotional lyrics slowly progress the track into a relatively minimalistic drop filled with distorted vocals, abrasive synths and booming percussion.
