Seattle’s own Surf Mesa and Denmark’s own John Alto have joined forces to combine their talents on their brand new collaboration “Holding On”.
“Holding On” is energized, and finds a way to be both emotive and mildly gritty. Alto’s hearty backbeats combine perfectly with Mesa’s bewitching synths to create a magical track that also features some breezy vocals. What starts as a pretty dulcet track transforms into an uptempo rhythmic heater sure to turn summer dancefloors into sweatboxes.
Speaking about “Holding On”, Mesa says,
“This record has been super close to my heart from the moment we started the demo and is the 3rd or 4th idea John and I made one day in the studio. We knew immediately we had to get it out asap.”
While Alto explains,
“We wanted to create something that hits you emotionally but still works on the dance floor. His dreamy sound mixed with my bass-heavy energy made this track come together so naturally.”
