Today is a good day for house-music fans, as Parisian powerhouse Tchami and the ever mysterious Malaa have teamed up on yet another incredible single. It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost exactly one year since the house heavyweights released their first collaboration, “Prophecy”, but today they’ve churned out a new future-house track titled “Summer 99” that may just rival its predecessor.
Although Malaa wasn’t part of Tchami’s recently released Alchemy 2 compilation, the masked producer definitely kept busy over the summer, dropping infectious singles such as “Belleville”, “Paris 96”, and his and Dombresky’s collab, “Hostyl”. For this latest offering filled with energetic percussion, bouncy plucks, distorted, detuned bass and some distinctive vocal samples (that some may recognise from De La Soul’s “Long Island Wildin'”), Tchami and Malaa did what they do best, giving us a true banger of a track. Check out “Summer 99” below and enjoy!
