Today, she shares her first original music of 2023, “Eats The Tale” with Rochelle Jordan.
TOKiMONSTA forges a laid-back soundscape, allowing Rochelle’s vocals to shine. Shimmery synths and spacious pads fill the air, complimented by a semi-acoustic kit, providing a raw feel to the production and accentuating the emotion behind the lyrics.

The concept visually is like that of an ouroboros — a serpent eating its own tail. However, I’ve done a pun where it’s about eating your own tale (a story). Many times we consume false stories/make-believe/lies, not realizing those stories eventually consume us until we disappear. Our sense of self is gone since we have chosen to believe in ‘tales.’ Beautiful, but tragic — the things we believe to make us feel better, but it’s worse for us in the end.
