Swiss Indie Jazz Trio Uto Paradise Conjure a Stellar Groove with “Falling Star”

If you need to get your daily jazz fix, look no further than the latest release from Uto Paradise. Inspired by the success Khruangbin has had without a lead singer, Uto Paradise embrace their instrumental sound on new single “Falling Star”. The Swiss indie-jazz trio is composed of guitarist Michel Spahr, bassist Severin Graf, and drummer Maxime Paratte.

On “Falling Star” they masterfully combine a traditional jazz bass and drum rhythm with an atmospheric treated guitar effect. Living up to the song’s name, they sprinkle in wavering synth notes that feel like starbursts throughout. The overall effect is delightfully dreamy.

Here’s what Uto Paradise had to say about this track:

This song is our take on how it must feel having a Martini in The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) whilst a falling star is streaking across the sky.
