EDM is about pushing boundaries, testing the limits, and releasing dope music. VEIL is a veteran in the underground bass scene and delivers today her debut album, HIGH VOLTAGE, via her very own label Street Ritual. Standing at 11-tracks, through a combination of mind-bending sounds and accompanying visuals HIGH VOLTAGE is an immersive album experience telling the story of AZAL, a character who respawned into a mysterious void known as THE HOLLOW, a cross-dimensional space of infinite timelines and realities. Through the album, each track reveals more of AZAL’s story. AZAL begins to bend reality within THE HOLLOW, and the album reflects that storyline.
While this character AZAL is exploring THE HOLLOW, VEIL is exploring her own reality on this album through sound. HIGH VOLTAGE is a melting pot of genres consisting of dubstep, drum & bass, IDM and more sounds out of left field. Standouts include the albums second track “YU,” an eerie, dark, deep dubstep number. “MOVE FAST AND BREAK THINGS” with HerShe is a chaotic (as the title would imply) and high energy back breaker. “OMEGA” with Digital Vagabond begins the second half of the album as a downtempo, spacey track that feels like you are floating in THE HOLLOW yourself. While the album’s final track “OVERLOAD” encompasses the theme of the entire album by being the most dynamic track on the project, mixing house with pulsating bass making for a truly unique listening experience.

I wanted each track to represent a different side of my production style and my love for multi-genre experiences, while staying true to the energy and emotion behind the concept of AZAL’s journey.
