Vincent Antone Packs a Soulful Punch on Monumental Debut Album ‘Unlimited’

||, |, ,

We’ve been on the Vincent Antone wagon for a few years now, patiently watching him ascend the electro-soul ranks with his infectious blend of soulful, sample-heavy electronic music. The Austin-based producer has been doing everything the right way, touring tirelessly and continually putting out amazing music. Today, we couldn’t be more excited to share his debut album, Unlimited, out now via DnT Records.

Vincent Antone has figured out what works, and for him it’s a healthy combination of guitar-driven melodies, gut-punching electronic production, hip-hop beats, and soulful vocal samples. There’s a heavy blues influence throughout the record with tracks like “Raw Flavor,” “Respect,” and “The Crib” leading the way. There’s endless sampling happening throughout Unlimited courtesy of The Beastie Boys, Eminem, The Staple Singers, Trick Daddy, and Rick Ross just to name a few.

There’s a beautiful versatility to the album that doesn’t just follow that same pattern. Tracks like “Dream State” and “Everlasting” slow things down a touch, reminiscent of GRiZ’s Chasing The Golden Hour saga while “Grooveship Earth” ups the tempo for a more jamtronica meets house affair. All in all, Unlimited is a 13-track exploration of the very best electro-soul has to offer and a standout album from one of its brightest stars.

A lot has been happening in the electro-soul space. Last year, Pretty Lights made his long-awaited return while GRiZ began his indefinite hiatus. Daily Bread announced his debut Red Rocks headline later this year and now, Vincent Antone has released his debut album. There’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to Vincent Antone and we’ll undoubtedly have this one on repeat for quite some time.
