Warner Music Reveals TikTok Licensing Deal to Boost Social Media Revenue

Warner Music Group, one of the world’s biggest record companies home to artists such as Madonna, Ed Sheeran, Illenium and RÜFÜS DU SOL, has just made a huge statement regarding TikTok creators and artists. This morning, Warner Music signed a multi-year deal with TikTok to boost its social media platforms revenues.

The new deal will help Warner Music’s artists and songwriters unlock new revenues and marketing opportunities from TikTok’s 1+ billion users. We’ve already seen countless content creators rack up a ridiculous amount of followers via social media and none more advantageous than with TikTok’s short video clip format.

Earlier this year, Warner Music’s CEO Robert Kyncl made a statement regarding AI’s important and dangerous influence on the music industry stating his interest to learn and utilize the technology for Warner Music’s benefit. Now, they’ve shown more interest in the ‘non-traditional’ world of music revenue with their endorsement of TikTok. In reality, this feels like just the tip of the iceberg.
