Kid Cudi has had a career unlike many. While it is rare to see artists burst onto the scene as strong as he did, what followed may be entirely unique to him. Kid Cudi has always been pretty open about his mental health struggles, and for a span of a few years, he seemed to completely lose himself. It wasn’t really until 2018 (a decade after his debut) that he began to rise again like a phoenix from ashes.
The brand new, full-length documentary about his career, titled A Man Named Scott, just dropped today, and it’s an amazing depiction of his rise, fall, and rebirth.
The film begins with Kid Cudi’s breakout release, “Day N Nite,” and follows his career through the recording of his albums all the way until the present day. In addition to Cudi himself speaking, A Man Named Scott also features friends, producers, and collaborators to help tell his story. Some of the more notable appearances include Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, ScHoolboy Q, and Timothy Chalamet.
You can watch the full documentary right now via Amazon. It’s free to watch if you’re a Prime member. It has a run time of about 90 minutes. Enjoy!
