West Coast-founded digital record label, Street Ritual, has been putting out some of the most unique, genre defying and thought provoking music today. Their latest acquisition comes by way of Colorado-based producer, Yoko, who joins the label with her bonkers EP, Memoirs of an Abnormal Mind.
Yoko makes quite the statement on the 3-track EP as each track bridges light, darkness, and texture into a fresh vision of underground bass. The title track blends the unconventional use of violin and strings with hypnotizing bass and percussion for an entirely unique sound. “The Amygdala” features some emotive vocal chants amidst a wobbling bassline and ear-bending production. “Lost In You” is arguably the deepest of the bunch and puts Yoko’s undeniably impressive production chops right at the forefront.
