MorFlo Records, run by its infamous label boss, Mersiv, is getting ready for quite the year of releases. The bass imprint plans on releasing not one, but two separate compilations this year. The first, hitting streaming services today, encapsulates the more laid-back, ethereal vibes MorFlo’s roster has to offer, with Slow Down, Vol. 01.
A fitting name for the album, Slow Down provides all of the feel good, chill vibes you could possibly crave, with each MorFlo artist contributing their unique imprint to the compilation. Kyral and Banko’s “Wake Up” perfectly introduces the compilation. It’s entrancing sound design and swung beat set the tone for the rest of the LP. Now, don’t get us wrong, there are many moments where high-energy, hype tunes shine on the album. Bass-centric “Bad Guy” from Hullaballo0 combines glitchy sound design and creative sample-manipulation to create a bass masterpiece. We haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of this seventeen track behemoth of a compilation, so make sure to check out all of the tracks for yourself.
Mersiv commented on the vibe of the compilation, saying:
The sounds on this compilation are dreamy, atmospheric, futuristic, hypnotic, experimental, and everything in between. We can’t wait for you to dive in.
