Australian producer Ninajirachi has been gaining more and more real estate in our brains with each successive banger she releases. Her newest EP 4×4 is no exception.
The talented artist further proves her versatility on these fast-paced, experimental club tracks. They feature the nostalgic, euphoric sounds that she borrows from influences like early 2010’s Zedd and Porter Robinson, but firmly grounds them in 2023 with a breakneck BPM and hyperpop coolness.
The EP is composed of 2 previous releases, in addition to 3 new songs, including a remixed version of the second track, “Undo U.” Our favorite is “Kota On The Plane,” which successfully executes the tricky balancing act of shimmering vocals and fantastical synth glimmers with grittier, relentless bass.
Below, Nina explains what this EP means to her:
“Making music hasn’t felt this fun and effortless for me since pre-pandemic. All of these songs were made in the last few months with my good friends and they were made very quickly, mostly in under a day, they’re not that serious or deep, they felt fulfilling and easy to write and produce! On this release (& others to come) I’ve been pulling more and more inspiration from the dance music that changed my life as a child and getting closer to becoming the producer I dreamed of being when I first heard it.”
