SunSquabi Return With The Funk On New Album

|||, ,

Known for their dedication to and mastery of bringing the funk, iconic Colorado trio SunSquabi are back with their new self-titled album and doing just that.

SunSquabi got the ball rolling letting listeners in on what to expect from this new project with a bevy of releases over the last number of weeks. “Cycle” and “Son of Pablito” created some serious buzz with their heavy nature and slick use of electric guitar, while “Feeling’s Gone” brought the chill with intricate record scratching and soothing horns. The songs that were not released prior followed suit with their excellence, with “Brass Pineapple” standing out with its incredibly dynamic structure.

“This record is the truest version of who we are as a band,” guitarist Kevin Donohue said. “We’ve grown a lot sonically over the years, and this album really brings it all together. These hometown shows are going to be something special.”

SunSquabi will be celebrating the release of their latest album with a two-night run at Cervantes in Denver the weekend of May 30th. Give a listen to SunSquabi’s self-titled album below and enjoy!
