Anyma took not only the techno world, but the world of electronic dance music by storm with his Genesys album series. Making music that transcended techno and made music that resonated with electronic fans from all realms of the scene. This story culminates with today’s release, The End Of Genesys. Exploring themes of humanity, technology, nature and coexistence with stunning music and even more stunning visuals, this album marks the end of an era.
During the closing moments of the final show of his iconic 12-show run at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Anyma announced this album would be coming. Featuring recent singles like “Hypnotized” with Ellie Goulding, “Work” with Yeat, and “Neverland (From Japan)” with Baset, this album stands 15 tracks long with 10 newcomers. “Taratata” with Grimes stands out as a Genesys banger to its core. Anyma teased this one as well as the album’s final track “Joke’s On You” with 070 Shake during his run at the Sphere.
The album’s title track “The End Of Genesys” comes about halfway through the album. Featuring Y do I, the track is every bit cinematic as the rest of the Genesys’ works with melodic progression that grabs you and doesn’t let go. The End Of Genesys’ penultimate track, “Human Now” with Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun serves as really the final page of the chapter of Genesys. Its music video follows the iconic robot of the story of Genesys, Eva, as she encounters another sentient being who transforms into Anyma. During the course of the video as their connection grows Eva sheds her mechanical form and turns human herself. Showing the importance of consciousness and self-connection in being human in a world of technology. The perfect end to the story.
On The End Of Genesys, Anyma had this to share:
“’The End Of Genesys’ is deeply personal to me and marks a turning point in the story I’ve been building for a long time. It’s about coexistence and the evolving relationship between humanity, technology, and consciousness. I’ve poured everything into creating this narrative both sonically and visually. I’m grateful to have worked with all the artists featured on the album and I’m excited to finally share this with the world.”
