When one of our site mainstays, Golden Vessel, decided to tap into lofi house via his new 1tbsp alias, we were hoping it wouldn’t be an isolated incident. Today he delights with another 1tbsp release, this time it comes in the form of a double single, “Stay Up / Rest,” both of which we’re happy to premiere and give you an early listen.
So far we’re loving every 1tbsp release, and this one is no different. Golden Vessel takes his knack for hazy, low-key indie and flips it on its head to create more dance-driven music, and the result has been a refreshing take on the lofi genre. Both “Stay Up” and “Rest” have an intoxicatingly funky vibe while still retaining that head-in-the-clouds sound that we’ve come to love from him (in both genres).
Golden Vessel came through with a great album earlier this year. It makes sense that he’s now tapping into a new sound after that project was out in the world. We hope he continues the stream of 1tbsp music.
