Alexander Lewis has certainly always had a knack for creating some vivid, suspenseful bangers that focused on his trombone playing. Today he takes that to an entirely new level with the release of “Soar,” and we’re proud to premiere this ridiculously hard tune.
“Soar” doesn’t just feature Alexander Lewis’s trombone, it also includes multiple string and brass players. Here’s what Alexander Lewis had to say about the creation of this filthy, cinematic track.
“Soar is an amalgamation of my influences from current movie scores and trap. It features 3 string players (recorded and layered to sound like a full orchestra) and 8 brass players (2 horns, 2 trumpets, 4 trombones). At the time of writing the song, “Chaos” was the only word to express how I was feeling. but when I had a final product it ended up being so much more than that. It represented/represents positive ways of dealing with chaos, and finding the beauty in it.”
With how well he’s executed such intense thematic elements on “Soar,” we would kill to see Alexander Lewis get his hands on an entire orchestra and see what he could do. After hearing this single, we can’t wait for the drop of his Red EP, which is due out this summer. Stay tuned.
This new track is a must listen for anyone. Get the first listen below and enjoy!
