TSIS favorite Alison Wonderland has had a huge year, and it’s only getting bigger. In addition to releasing her third studio album this past spring, DJ Mag just named her in the top 50 best DJs of 2022, and she shows us why with her new single “Down The Line.”
The beginning of “Down The Line” starts out deceptively slow. The opening verses feature only Wonderland’s phenomenal voice and some moody, acoustic guitar chords. The power of the song gradually charges up as the song progresses, finally exploding into choppy synth rhythms and heavy bass drops in the chorus. A halo of echoing voices joins her as she sings, “I’m gonna be okay this time.”
Wonderland shares the inspiring message behind the track:
We need the dark times in order to get to the light. We need that experience to know that it’s going to be okay one day. The track is me acknowledging that I was alone during a difficult time but knew that I was going to get through it and be okay, down the line. We’re all going through a dark time right now, and sometimes we need to be reminded that it’s going to be okay. No matter what happens, we will be okay.
“Down The Line” is out now via Astralwerks. You can listen below, enjoy!
