One of the most iconic radio shows for dance music is coming to a close. BBC Radio 1 has officially announced that Diplo‘s show Diplo & Friends, which occupies a 11:00pm-1:00am time slot on Saturday nights, will be going off the air.

Any dance music fans from the early to mid 2010s know that at that time, Diplo & Friends was one of the most coveted platforms on the airwaves. His guests included some of the biggest headliners, but also handed the spotlight over to smaller up-and-coming artists to get their chance to shine.

Some of the most iconic mixes included RL Grime, Big Gigantic, Cashmere Cat, Jack Ü, DJ Snake, and even Avicii.

Diplo isn’t the only one departing from Radio 1. Annie Mac, who had been on the station for 17 years, has also been replaced.

Radio 1 will also be saying goodbye to Diplo, who currently occupies 11pm – 1am on Saturday nights with Diplo and Friends, delivering exclusive mixes featuring some of the hottest names in Dance. Thanks for everything @diplo 👏 pic.twitter.com/qTI31U3fxm
