With one of the most unique albums released this year, New York City’s own Blockhead shows once again why he has had such longevity in the game. The combination of messaging and sensational beat-making on the album Mortality Is Lit! creates a mesmerizing 12-track listening experience.
One of the focal points on this LP is the idea of cyclical patterns and accepting natural endings, which is shown on tracks like “They Got Therapy For That” and “Earth’s Farewell Tour”. But this album does not take itself too seriously the whole time, giving us gems like “Dolphin Lundgren”, told from the perspective of a high dolphin, and “Burning Man in Tehran”, an absolute banger that brings in a wide array of intriguing elements.
Blockhead shows his incredible range on this project. Each track is unique and has its own flavor, which can and will appeal to many. Give Mortality Is Lit! a listen below and enjoy!
