Berlin-born artist, Bluestaeb, is one of the key figures of a new generation of up and coming hip-hop beatmakers, who have emancipated from genre thinking and instead merge old school aesthetics with a new school attitude and organic instrumentation. His latest single is a collaboration with Chicago’s Mick Jenkins and Paris’ Aréna titled “MOVIN’.”
The moody track features Mick Jenkins` laid-back & earthy vocals that find a sweet spot between singing and melodic rapping. Supported by Aréna´s precise synth-bass lines “MOVIN’” finds the perfect blend between jazztronica & funk. Surprising at first with its fluctuating time-signature, the satisfying transition is smooth and showcases Bluestaeb´s knack of combining genres effortlessly.
“MOVIN’” is off his upcoming album GISEKE dropping via Jakarta Records on July 23rd. Stream the new single below and enjoy!
