The man, the myth, the legend himself, multi-time Grammy award winner Justin Vernon and his Bon Iver project is back after more than 5 years with a brand new release. He is back with a 3-track EP (plus a 12 second intro) titled SABLE,, and his uber high-quality production has returned with full force.
His first EP since 2009, some of the tracks have been in the works since 2020 as SABLE, follows Vernon through various points of self-healing. “THINGS BEHIND THINGS BEHIND THINGS” leads things off with a beautifully layered song as Vernon creates pure art from his anxieties and uncertainty. “SPEYSIDE” is just a reflecting artist and their acoustic guitar, and the closing track “AWARDS SEASON” opens with a powerful line “I can handle more than I can handle” and delivers a mostly stripped down masterpiece which crescendos halfway through, discussing life’s major changes along the way.
SABLE, is another feather in the cap of an all-time great who keeps delivering powerful and captivating music. 15 plus years after his first album release, Justin Vernon and his Bon Iver project continues to show why he is one of the very best still going. Stream the EP below and enjoy!
