Bonobo has shared another single from his upcoming album! “Tides” is the second chapter of the upcoming musical story that is Fragments, officially due out via Ninja Tune on January 14 of next year. This brand new track features the lovely vocals of singer, songwriter, and poet, Jamila Woods.
“Tides” is a breathtaking melodic gem from start to finish. The acoustic instrumentation matches up perfectly with the electronic synths and is elevated further by the flawless croons of Jamila Woods. Not only is the sound of her voice mesmerizing, but the songwriting and lyricism are fitting as well. The downtempo drum rhythm gives this one a groove that you can endlessly sway to, much like tides going in and out.
We’re loving how cohesive this piece of music is. It truly is a work of art.
