Yesterday we got one of the more unexpected, yet awesome collaborations I’ve seen recently in Boys Noize and Francis and the Lights with their track “Why Not.” Most people know Alex Ridha of Boys Noize for house and techno music, but his last few releases, including “Midnight Dub” with Skrillex and Ty Dolla Sign, show that he’s not afraid to surface from the underground.
Although “Why Not” is a complete departure from Ridha’s wheelhouse, its quality is unwavering. The upbeat, light disco track was conceived in a Berlin studio after Francis Starlite accompanied the DJ onstage at PEOPLE festival. The slightly clouded, echoey vibe of the tune really adds an 80’s feel that you can’t help but groove to. Enjoy!
