When they aren't performing as essential members in the Pretty Lights Band, New York based duo Break Science, are turning out some incredible music of their own.
Today we have the premiere of their newest single, "Misaligned", a standalone song showcasing a more matured sound from the group. We hear a nice cinematic intro which quickly progresses to a signature keyboard fueled drop, yet with a new atmospheric twist. To accompany the new song the duo are premiering an equally impressive set of dark visuals for it's official music video. Watch the video below, and stay tuned as we'll have the free download later this month. Enjoy!
Here are some quotes from Adam Deitch of Break Science and the director of the video Paul Greenhouse on the video.
"Honored to have collaborated with a true visual artist such as Paul Greenhouse for our new "Misaligned" video. This will be our 3rd musical collaboration with Sonya Kitchell (&Co is her new project) and we feel it's the best yet.” – Adam Deitch
"The concept for the video was to use the singer, Sonya Kitchell's face as a frame and fill it with imagery that would illustrate the nuances and textures of the track. I didn’t understand the meaning of the lyrics until we filmed Sonya’s performance and learned it was a breakup song. My friend Eric who worked on this with me got Sonya into a discussion about the meaning of the lyrics, and by the last take (the one we use in the video), her performance was really intense and powerful. It’s bit obscured by all of the images laid over top, but I think you can still feel it in her eyes and some of her expressions." -Paul Greenhouse
