Carnage & Lil Yachty – “Mase In ’97” : Hip Hop / Trap Collaboration

||, , |,

LA based producer Carnage had a rise to become a successful international DJ releasing an endless stream of chart topping electronic tracks and crossed over into the hip-hop world. He dropped his Papi Gordo album last fall featuring Migos, OG Maco, ILove Makonnen, Lil Uzi Vert, A$AP Ferg, and more. Now he’s teamed up with exciting new rap artist Lil Yachty on his latest track.

Lil Yachty is one of the most interesting new artists right now. He’s one of those artists that seems to come out of nowhere with a dedicated fanbase that didn’t make sense to me at first. Yachty has grown on me so much he’s become one of my favorite new artists with his “Broccoli” collab alongside D.R.A.M. getting almost daily listens.

This new track “Mase in ’97” brings a beat with wonky, distorted blaring horns, hard hitting bass, and quick trap percussion that’s sounding like some of Carnage’s best production we’ve heard in while. The two previosuly linked up on Carnage's "RARI" and are back at it again. Lil Yachty typically goes slow in his rapping, but unleashes some rapid-fire flows we’ve yet to hear from the young rapper. This shows off some true versatility from Yachty as we hear a new side to the buzzing Atlanta rapper who landed himself a spot on the 2016 XXL freshman class.
