The collaborative spirit of bass music. It’s a beautiful thing. What a beautiful thing. And we have that showcased here for us today. Dubstep legend Caspa has just released his brand new EP Project X via Bassrush Records and no, it is not inspired by the movie Project X, although these songs bring the heat. It represents a collaboration. “Caspa X the other artist.” It’s a great concept for one of dubsteps iconic figures and he along with his collaborators absolutely bring it.
Project X is pure fire from top to bottom. Only five tracks long but packing in the heat start to finish. For the project, Caspa specifically chose his most favorite producers in the scene for this project. The EP begins with a collab alongside the phenom PEEKABOO for a spooky, haunting, eerie, tense number that perfectly utilize silence and space. “Affinity” with Distinct Motive leads off with gleaming synths before dropping into a pit of gnarly wobbly bass and warped melody. “Real Talk” with MYTHM for maybe the most menacing dubstep tune on the project with a modern edge that’ll bass your face up.
There are no skips on Project X, as Caspa and his collaborators alongside Bassrush Records’ continue to champion genre-defining bass music.
