2018 has definitely been the biggest year for Cautious Clay’s career thus far. In a world where the rules of genres tend be more often broken, Clay thrives by blending together hip-hop, R&B, indie, and more. It’s been working so far for him. He’s been featured on an HBO soundtrack, invited to perform at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, and performed at the Soul Train Awards, among other accolades.
Cautious Clay is closing out his momentous year by dropping his new single “REASONS” a track that was also worked on by the legend Hudson Mohawke and Tobias Jesso Jr. The track features thundering percussion (undoubtedly HudMo’s contribution), triumphant themes, and flawless singing by Cautious.
“REASONS” will be the first single off of a forthcoming EP that is set to drop early next year. According to a press release, this new EP will be a shift in sound for Cautious Clay, testing out harder hitting soundscape.
