Chelsea Cutler is an artist whose vocals are always immediately recognized, and for good reason. The Connecticut-based vocalist, songwriter and producer’s bubbly voice shines on every track she appears on, from Kasbo’s “Found You” to her own originals like “You Make Me.” She’s constantly impressed us since she first appeared on the site in 2016, and this weekend she’s impressed us yet again with her Sleeping With Roses mixtape.
Similarly to many artists in production today, Cutler finds herself experimenting with and blending together various genres on this latest offering. The 8-track mixtape is packed with pieces that will make you want to dance, like the pulsing future bass-style “Deserve This” and “The Reason.” Yet Cutler also takes things down a more tender route, diving into a mature style with the raw, subdued “Deathbed,” “Sleeping With Roses” and “Lonely Alone” with Jeremy Zucker.
