Writer, actor, and rapper Donald Glover has confirmed that he will executively produce and star in an upcoming comedy pilot for a new series set to broadcast on FX. The show will be called "Atlanta", and will revolve around the rap scene in Atlanta.

“Two cousins on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene whose opposing views on art versus commerce, success and race will make their quest anything but easy.”

We even have some news on what to expect from Donald's role in the show,

Glover will be acting as "'Earnest ‘Earn’ Marks,' a college drop-out who reconnects with his long buried ambition and sets out to seize the life he imagined for himself when his estranged cousin becomes a sudden star."

With his award winning writing for the show 30 Rock, starring in NBC's Community, and past experience in the skit show Derrick Comedy under his belt we expect Glover to really nail this new project.

Let's also keep in mind that Donald Glover is also a successful rapper under the moniker Childish Gambino.  Over the past couple of years he has turned what was a hobby into a massive rap career with recent Grammy nominations for both Rap Album of The Year and Rap Record Of The Year.  Can't deny the man is multi talented; we're looking forward to what he'll do with this new role.
