Chris Lorenzo Flips Golden Oldie “California Dreamin” into Peak-Time House Banger

||, |

We’ve been bumpin’ Chris Lorenzo‘s “California Dreamin” all weekend. In a new song that came out on Friday, Chris Lorenzo sampled a timeless throwback jam. The original record dating back to 1966 by The Mamas & The Papas is a golden oldie and one we’ve all heard before. Lorenzo’s new rendition comes via Anti Up partner-in-crime Chris Lake’s label, Black Book Records.

Lorenzo has somehow flipped this classic into a peak-time club banger. Sampling the alluring vocals of The Mamas & The Papas, Chris Lorenzo re-worked the original version by laying down a fresh tech-house rhythm under the grainy vocals. We’re loving how easy Chris Lorenzo made it look here. Without tarnishing the original vocals one bit, he was able to breathe new life into “California Dreamin” with the power of house music.

This has been a sought-after one from his fans for a minute now. We’re stoked to see that it’s finally out.
