Dave 1 and P-Thugg of Chromeo are always one step ahead of the rest, combining the nostalgic flair of 80s funk with futuristic nu disco. The Canadian duo have a seemingly endless catalog of music and plan to grow it even bigger with their forthcoming album Adult Contemporary. Today, they’re dropping the first single off the project “Personal Effects,” out now via BMG.
Chromeo are picking up right where they left off as they venture into soulful, disco-tinged waters. The retro-inspired production, featuring a funky bassline, catchy vocals, and warm keys, highlights what Chromeo does best. The accompanying music video is equally as entertaining, serving as a bit of a nostalgic short film.
