Once a year, house and techno heads from all over the country flock to Detroit, Michigan for America’s best and baddest festivals, Movement. Having Detroit roots, and also being one of the most trailblazing DJs, Claude VonStroke has been asked to play Movement over 10 times.
In honor of the city of Detroit and its legendary house and techno history, the Dirtybird don wanted to do something extra special. After clearing over 150 tracks, many of which were never before heard, Claude laid down not only one of the best sets of the festival, but perhaps his career.
“I always want to bring the hottest possible set for Detroit, it’s where it all started, and my parents always come watch. My set is very much an old-school style DJ set, all music no-one’s heard before, special versions, secret edits, all the stuff I’ve been saving just for this performance,” Claude states in a press release.
After putting so much work into a set, VonStroke decided to make an entire project out of it. Thankfully, the mix in its entirety will be released to the public, along with each track that he plays, via a 20-track compilation. The compilation includes some brand new Dirtybird tracks from artists like Will Clarke, Born Dirty, and Claude VonStroke, himself.
“It seems crazy to release a mix album in today’s world, but the amount of incredible original music I have collected from both known and unknown producers will make this something people can get really excited about.”
