…..No Daft Punk. The lineup just got released for the most buzzed about festival in the country, Coachella Music & Art Festival. The legendary festival which takes place in the sunny Indigo Valley, California every year expanded to two weekends last year to accommodate the incredibly high demand. The 2013 festival will be taking place over April 12th – 14th and April 19th – 21st.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 29th at 10am PST.
So there is no Daft Punk.. yet again. I guess we were silly for letting our hopes get up once again. But there is a reunion from Wu-Tang Clan, which is more then dope. Also confirmed is the much speculated reunion of Ben Gibbard electronic project The Postal Service. Of course Red Hot Chili Peppers will be incredible, but didn't they just play every festival last year? Phoenix is an incredible band, so that's awesome to see them headline. All in all for Coachella standards I would say the headliners are a tad weak, and they have definitely shifted more towards live acts again. Make sure to read the small text because there defintely is a the stacked lineup of everyone underneath the headliners.
In the electronic spectrum we have Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Knife Party, Benny Benassi, TNGHT, Eric Prydz, Dog Blood (Skrillex + Boys Boize), Major Lazer, Disclosure, Hardwell, Kill the Noise, Wolfgang Gartner, Nicky Romero, Excision and that's just a handful.
In the hip-hop world, besides Wu-Tang Clan we have 2 Chainz, Danny Brown, Jurassic 5, Pusha T, and Earl Sweatshirt.
What is everyone's thoughts?
