Coldplay are absolutely timeless. Considering the legendary band has amassed a long list of hits throughout their 20+ years, today they stopped off at NPR to drop some of their alltime hits and cover Prince in a new Tiny Desk Concert.
It seems like there’s never a bad time (or setting) for a Coldplay concert – even if it’s from behind a Tiny Desk. Leading off with Coldplay’s “Cry Cry Cry” straight into “Viva la Vida”, Chris Martin warms up with guitarist Jonny Buckland and the nine-piece For Love Choir before a quick break to thank NPR and his fellow musicians for the concert. Following up with their passionate track “Broken”, immediately into a cover of Prince’s “1999” then ending with “Champion Of The World”, this is an emotional roller-coaster from start to finish.
