Daft Punk Break Up, Share Farewell Video

|||

In a shocking turn of events today, perhaps the most legendary project in all of dance music have announced that they are calling it quits. Daft Punk has officially disbanded as a a duo.

The announcement was shared via a video called “Epilogue,” which shows an excerpt from their 2006 film, Electorama with music playing from Random Access Memories. This news has been confirmed by their publicist Kathryn Frazier, but there was no reason given for the split.

Daft Punk formed back in 1993 when Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo came together in Paris, France. Their 1997 debut album, Homework, was an instant classic, and would start them on an artistic trajectory that dance music had never seen before.

We tip our caps to Daft Punk for having one of the most amazing careers in electronic music.  You can watch the farewell video below.
