Listen To Daft Punk’s Legendary 1997 Radio 1 Essential Mix

We recently stumbled upon a real gem of a mix from the legendary duo that is Daft Punk. From 1997, this BBC Essential mix was top class stuff from a maskless Daft Punk, in the same year that their timeless debut album Homework was released and set them on the path to becoming one of the world’s biggest and most influential acts for years to come.

The house energy is strong in this set; it’s filled with classic house and disco sounds of the Chicago from the likes of OG’s like DJ Deeon, Paul Johnson, and CZR. A few Daft Punk classics like “Teachers” and “Around The World” make their way into the mix, as well as some deep cuts from Thomas Bangalter‘s discography, which fans of the duo will know has some real gems in it. Uptempo, percussion-heavy house with killer grooves makes this set a must-listen for house-heads and Daft Punk fans alike. Check it out below, enjoy!
